Montgomery, Alabama, is widely recognized as the birthplace of the modern Civil Rights Movement, making it a city rich in history, courage, and transformation. It was here that ordinary people took extraordinary steps to challenge injustice and demand equality. Montgomery became the center of national attention during the Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955, sparked by the courageous stand of Rosa Parks and guided by the leadership of Martin Luther King Jr. Years later, the historic Selma to Montgomery Marches brought national awareness to the fight for voting rights and helped lead to the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Hosting our family reunion in Montgomery is especially meaningful because it allows us to gather in a place where the struggle for justice, dignity, and opportunity helped reshape the nation. The stories preserved here remind us of the resilience, strength, and unity that carried generations through hardship and into progress. As the McQueen-Rogers family comes together in this historic city, we honor not only the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement but also the legacy within our own family, celebrating where we come from while inspiring the generations that will follow.
For those who will still be in town on Sunday, we invite you to join us for worship at True Divine Baptist Church, led by Pastor Stephen Huntley.
π Sunday, July 12, 2026
β° 10:00 AM
Come worship with us as we close out our family reunion weekend in unity, gratitude, and praise. π
Following service, if time, funds, and attendance allow, we will gather for a Southern-style farewell meal to enjoy one last moment together as family.
We are excited to share that for those who will still be in town on Sunday, we will come together in fellowship at True Divine Baptist Church.
True Divine Baptist Church is a place rooted in faith, love, and community. Known for its welcoming spirit and powerful worship experience, the church provides an atmosphere where everyone feels at homeβwhether you are visiting for the first time or returning once again. The message is always uplifting, the praise is heartfelt, and the fellowship is genuine.
As we gather for our family reunion, this will be a beautiful opportunity to not only celebrate our time together but also to give thanks, reflect, and worship as one family. There is something special about coming together in the house of the Lord, and we believe this moment will be a meaningful and memorable part of our reunion weekend.
We look forward to ending our time together in unity, gratitude, and praise.
We would LOVE to have as many family members there as possible! π
